Manukahunney
Siobhan Brown ( Manukahunney) is a singer & songwriter who’s musical influences hail from the 60’s/70/’s and 80’s encompassing everything from James brown and Sam Cooke to Joni Mitchell , Jill Scott & Roy Ayers . She sang in numerous gospel groups before starting the band Manukahunney in 2012 as a conduit for her love of soul music, particularly the raw, energetic and funky sounds of Otis Redding and Aretha Franklin et al.
Having sung energetic covers of her favourite soul artists and tunes for years, Siobhan has embarked on her journey writing her own original songs and released her 1st Ep "Let Go" in 2018 and her Classic Single "Watershed "under the name Manukahunney Blue. With lots going on in her life she took a break from performing for a few years wanting to rethink and tap into her innate creativity. With Inspiration and encouragement following selection through a tough competition for funding across the UK from the MOBO awards trust, Siobhan has remerged as an original Artist bearing her original brand name Manukahunney ( no more Blue attached) and writing her own material now, with a soon to release 2nd EP & Single and lots more in store.
Backed by her tight soul band and now with her own backing vocalists for her larger shows, you're in for a real treat . Siobhan's new material really reflects who she is as an artist as her songs are centred around her life experiences and her key values of LOVE PEACE AUTHENTICITY & FREEDOM. Manukahunney is a fresh and powerful soul sound with all her musical influences on show & grounded in her gospel roots, but yet still a unique sound of her own. You're gonna love the Soul coming out of this Soulfilled strong black woman & her Irish Hunney Jar that is MANUKAHUNNEY.
